Description:
After 6 months into the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, we have statistical and epidemiological data that only partially confirm our initial assumptions. In other words: it is time to update our knowledge of SARS-CoV-2.
In this context, Dr Timo Kehl of the German Cancer Research Center presents the most relevant findings and projections after 6 months of research on SARS-CoV-2 and its outbreak conditions. This includes current studies on risk groups, transmission, pathophysiology including organ damage and the resulting requirements for our health systems. By now, previous measures can be reassessed, new conclusions can be drawn and projections can be made regarding the further development in 2020 and 2021.
Our speaker Dr Timo Kehl is Head of the Biosafety Unit at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and since the beginning of this year Head of the Corona Task Force at DKFZ. He has been working towards understanding the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and identifying ways to create a long term safe working environment and minimize the risk of infection clusters at DKFZ.
